Just trying to get a hang of this!

Valentine's Day Lovelies

I'm on a roll with getting things finished this week!  I can't cross anything off my WIP list, but I'm very happy with my results.

Patchwork Heart:

I made it from 2 1/2 inch squares and used all scraps for the front.  I'm very happy with the results.  I was inspired by Blue Elephant Stitches and s.o.t.a.k. homemade.

The backing is something I'm been saving for a while...it was hard to use it, but I love the results and the contrast it provided.

Little Ostrich:

This is for my Little Ostrich and I can't wait to get a picture of her in it.  We are going to look for a matching top and tights.  I used Anna Maria Horner's All Set pattern and will make it again.  It is fully lined in light gray.

Now I'm hoping to finish a few more Scrappy Trip Along blocks.

New Year, New Blogger and New Blog

Hello Blog World,

After observing from my ipad in 2012, I have decided to post.  I'm really not sure what my goals for this space are and look forward to developing them over the next year.  Mostly, I need a space to keep myself in check...to many projects,  to much fabric, and to much inspiration has overwhelmed  my sewing space.  The first thing you should know about me is that I love a good list, so that is when I will start:

2013 Goals:
1.  Finish at least 1/2 of my 72 WIP.
2.  Take pictures of my finished projects and post them at least 3 times a month!
3.  Stop buying so much fabric!  And use up the fabric I have collected in the last 2 years--I'm not use if fabric ages like wine, but if it does my collection is getting better by the day!

I started 2013 by doing a little bit better on goal 2 and 3 with my Scrappy Trip Along.  I cut into 66 fat quarters.  Most of them Anna Maria Horner.  I think it is going to be lovely.  My goal is 64 blocks before Quilt Con....we will see.

Goal 1 is going to be an uphill battle for me.  I started several new projects this week, but I did manage to make some headway on a couple older ones.  More on that to come.
